Perhaps in the future, other established manufacturers or large parent companies will find a reason to resuscitate the Drexel Brand. HHG owned other great American brands such as Henredon Furniture, Hickory Chair and Maitland Smith. Heritage Home Group, which was the most recent parent company to own Drexel, filed for bankruptcy in 2018. In other words, it appears that no company currently licenses furniture using the Drexel Company identity. Additionally, as of 2020, no company has produced furniture under the Drexel name. After many acquisitions and mergers by various parent groups, Drexel Furniture no longer manufacturers furniture.

Sadly, Drexel Furniture is no longer in business. Like Ethan Allen Furniture, Drexel Furniture has a great following and excellent name recognition. However, good old Drexel Heritage still has a devoted following.ДЄnd for good reason! Drexel Heritage furniture has beautiful lines, fabulous veneers and lovely French, Italian, Asian and British inspired designs. Today, they abandoned the Heritage part of their name to pursue more contemporary styles and modern twists. That merger solidified and made Drexel Heritage the epicenter of the fine furniture industry.Drexel Heritage was the name of what is now known as just вЂњDrexel Furniture.вЂќ Previously, the company made fabulous traditional adaptations under the Drexel Heritage name. Brunn oversaw the merger of Drexel furniture and Heritage Furniture, a merger that proved to be exceptionally valuable for both companies. Bailey very successfully implemented a program of building close relationships with magazine editors, including House Beautiful. Brunn brought on Betty Bailey, their first female executive. Over the objections of most of his senior colleagues, Mr. Brunn initiated the вЂњkey storeвЂќ program, which was a successful predecessor to Drexel HeritageвЂ™s Gallery Program.

A letter of thanks from the famous general is carefully stored in todayвЂ™s Drexel Heritage archives.ДЄfter the war, Drexel brought David Brunn from New York to serve as their new vice-president. At the conclusion of the war, Drexel employees hand crafted a walnut desk inlaid with stars and his name in marble for General Douglas MacArthur to show their appreciation of his war effort on the Japanese front. World War II was hard on most furniture manufacturers, but Drexel Furniture was fortunate to land a government contract to supply office furniture for state side army offices. This dresser provides ample yet efficient drawer storage. Faux bamboo brass corner accents on all four corners and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design.
